You have just been advised that two of your key staff must take time off work. The mother of one staff has passed away unexpectedly; the other requires urgent surgery that will see them off work for six weeks, followed by half-time work for a further six weeks before being able to return to full duties. To make matters worse, a key piece of equipment has been declared dangerous and cannot be used until it is repaired and a key raw material has just doubled in price due to a factory fire and is thus in short supply.
