Mr. Ito is a personnel division manager of a corporation X that produces chemical producers such as cosmetics, treatments, additives, drugs etc. He is directed by his superior to analyze the 70 sales employees of the overall one-year performance and make a report summarizing the analysis. He is provided an attached file (File: employee evaluation) which contains "Individual ID" (Column1), "Production Division ID(Column2), Gender (Column3), Quarterly Sales (thousand US dollars) (Column4-7, and sum in Column8), and test score (evaluating an individual potential capability, Column 9 full score is 100 points), Column 10 is job satisfaction, Column 11 is employee's evaluation of the superior (low 0 to high 5). Grading is required to evaluate an individual by five ranks with specified distribution from top notch A 10%, B:20%, C:30%, D:30%, to low grade E:10%.

a. Mr. Ito evaluates employees based on the superior's guidance to evaluate all 70 employees with "sales" whose weight is 2/3 and "test score weight 1/3. Use and report statistical notion such as the mean, standard deviation, percentile, and others to analyze. Show grade of ID 1-5.

b. What reservations and limitation should Mr. Ito present in his report? To simplify the analysis and to make a quick evaluation, can Mr. Ito use Q1 and Q2 sales instead of Q1- Q4 sales? Or can he use just only "test score" to achieve the same grading results as in a ?
