IchthysLNGisrankedamongthemostsignificantoilandgas programsintheworld.The energydevelopmentisajointventurebetweenINPEXgroupcompanies(theOperator),major partnerTotalEnergies,andtheAustraliansubsidiariesofCPC CorporationTaiwan,TokyoGas, OsakaGas,KansaiElectric Power,JERAandTohoGas.

AFinal InvestmentDecisionforIchthysLNGwasreachedin2012andproductioncommenced inJuly2018.IchthysLNGisexpected to produce8.9milliontonnesofLNGand 1.65million tonnesofLPG perannum,along withmore than100,000barrels ofcondensate per dayat peak.Itis one ofthe fewenergy programs worldwide toincorporate the wholechainof developmentandproduction:subsea,offshore,pipelineandonshore.

GasandcondensatefromtheIchthysFieldwillbeexportedtoonshorefacilitiesforprocessing nearDarwinviaan890-kilometrepipeline. Mostcondensateisdirectlyshippedtoglobal marketsfromafloatingproduction,storageandoffloadingfacilitypermanentlymoorednear theIchthys Field in theBrowseBasin.

Locatedabout220kilometres offshoreWesternAustraliaand820kilometres southwestof Darwin, theIchthysFieldcoversanarea ofaround800squarekilometres in wateraveraging depths ofaround250metres. TheIchthys Fieldisestimatedtocontainmore than12 trillion cubic feet of gas and500millionbarrelsofcondensate.
