As you are aware, I provide this meeting to discuss establishing work practices that support and promote innovation within the Bounce Fitness Sydney Centre. I am delighted to be with you guys today, so let's get started now. Current Bounce Fitness objectives:Bounce Fitness Sydney aims to increase sales by annually, but is struggling with declining customer memberships due to stagnant class offerings. The lack of innovation in programs and facilities is hindering market penetration. The outdated office fitout contradicts the brand's reputation as a premier wellness program provider. To increase profitability, Bounce Fitness should decrease customer acquisition costs by every two quarters, lower service delivery costs by a quarter, and maintain a steady spending percentage.Market research conducted by the Bounce Fitness team indicated that clients are choosing to go to other fitness centers that offer more innovative programs and facilities. Upon further inspection I have realized that Bounce Fitness Sydney have been offering the same classes, run at the same times for the past four years. Kelly White : I have been extremely frustrated over the past months because Bounce Fitness has experienced a large drop in client numbers. When I asked clients why they were leaving Bounce Fitness, most of them said that they were moving to another fitness center that offered a broader range of classes and equipment. I tried to talk to the previous Centre Manager about the need for innovation in order to remain competitive but he didnt seem to care. He said he liked the classes we offered and that we weren't going to change them.Chairperson: I am also aware that the Bounce Fitness Sydney office fit out is bland and outdated. The office has gray carpet and gray walls, all desks are white with gray partitions between each desk, there are no images on the walls and there are no plants or flowers in the office.Darren Smith: With regards to the physical environment at Bounce Fitness Sydney, I have wanted to redesign the Bounce Fitness Office for the past couple of years. I would personally like to see the walls painted in a color such as yellow as it represents creativity, optimism and friendliness. I would also like to see paintings or some kinds of inspirational quotes on the walls. I would personally like to see the cubicles removed and replaced with desks that can be arranged into groups so staff can sit with one another and collaborate.I also think that the company should replace the desktop computers with laptops so staff freedom to move around the officeI have been quite stressed and frustrated over the past months because Bounce Fitness has experienced a large drop in client numbers. The previous Centre Manager was not interested in innovation or staff development. He often chanted the saying If its not broken, dont fix it I advised him that clients were leaving Bounce Fitness and joining other fitness centers as they offered a broader range of classes and equipment. I requested on a number of occasions to update your skills and complete training courses that would enable me to train people in new fitness areas. However, the old Centre Manager denied my requests. He believed that clients liked the classes we had and didnt need to offer new ones.Kelly White: So I want us to implement the Continuous Improvement Policy and Procedure into the operations of Bounce Fitness Sydney so that staff have an opportunity to make suggestions about continuous improvement and innovation. As part of the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Policy and Procedure I would like to see you set up a suggestion box so that staff have somewhere to place their suggestions anonymously. I would also like to see you conduct weekly staff meetings where innovation is always included in the agenda.This will provide a set time each week for you to present and discuss any suggestionsreceived in the suggestion box and allow staff an opportunity to present any suggestions they have at the meeting if they are happy to do so I know that staff have some great ideas for innovation if only you were listened toDarren Smith: I have recently reviewed the Professional Development Policy and Procedure. I believe it should include a requirement for all staff to complete a minimum of hours of personal andor professional development per year. I also believe that mentoring andor buddy systems should be included in the Professional Development Policy and Procedure as a learning opportunity. Senior staff and management should be mentoring junior staff to assist them with developing required skills for their job and contributing towards innovation.Kelly White: I have recently reviewed the continuous improvement policy and procedure. I dont believe that it requires improvement. However, I do think that you should develop a policy and procedure for Rewarding and recognising staff contributions to innovation. I think thatthe following rewards could be appropriate: Financial bonus Paid time off, either full day or half day Movie tickets Recognition of contribution in front of colleagues and managementI believe that formal rewards should be given monthly and then again at the end of the year. I also think that the policy and procedure should include requirements for staff to provide regular informal feedback as earned by employees.Chairperson: Bounce Fitness Head Office has allocated a budget of $ to support the renovation of the Bounce Fitness Sydney office along with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices that are going to encourage and support innovation so that the goals and vision of the organization are met.It seems that we've run out of time, so I guess well finish here.
