Chapter 8 is all about Internal Control. The scandals of the early 2000s necessitated new legislation in the form of Sarbanes-Oxley. Do some research on Enron, Worldcom and discuss what happened that changed the way we now look at Internal Control. You may want to investigate the accounting firm, Arthur Andersen and discuss their role in these scandals. Do you think these things could still happen even with SOX?
