Charlie was offered a job as a "Public Relations & Marketing Officer" at a well-known shipping company, Amex International INC. One week before she was to start her new job (and 2-weeks after she had given notice to her current employer, TELUS) she received an email from Amex' HR manager, informing her that they were withdrawing their job offer because they found out that she was a high-profile activist for "Protectors of Fur-Bearing Animals" in BC, and some of their customers (such as those who export mink pelts to China and Russia) would be uncomfortable when having to liaise with her.
