During this time, Joanne has been taking antidepressants to help manage her mental health. She has also been taking time off work for her appointments quite frequently.
Some of the staff have been complaining about Joanne's poor performance and rumours have begun around the centre about Joanne.
The Centre Director, Carmela, who is aware of the reasons behind Joanne's absences and performance issues, decides to deal with the rumours before they escalate into workplace conflicts and affect the children, families and the other staff. Carmela and Joanne are also good friends.

You are the Lead Educator in the Pre-Kindy room (2-3 age group) of Autumn Leaves Early Learning in Western Australia. Your room has 13 children enrolled who are full time, and you have two other educators who work with you, Nina and Jason.
Jason (Diploma qualified educator) has 2 young children who attend school nearby. He has mentioned that he is currently paying for both before and after school care for both his children and that it would be great if he could at least drop them off at school in the mornings.
Nina (awaiting her certificate for her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification) is flexible with her time and has no other commitments. However, she has informed the Centre Director that she can only do earlyshift on Friday as she has an appointment at 4.00pm.
Shu Lin (Certificate III qualified educator) is a casual staff member who comes in to cover staff lunches when required and is flexible with her time if given sufficient notice.
