Functional behavioral assessment (FBA) is a process used to gather details about the events that predict and maintain a student's problem behavior. The purpose of the FBA is to provide information that will be used to design effective positive behavior support plans.

ABC Behavior utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in a variety of settings, including in-home, clinic, social groups, and community outings. An ABC data form is an assessment tool used to gather information that should evolve into a behavior implementation plan. ABC refers to:

• Antecedent- the events, action, or circumstances that occur before a behavior.
• Behavior- The behavior.
• Consequences- The action or response that follows the behavior.
