Choose a case of "police misconduct." This does not have to be from New York City. Students should describe the incident in detail.

2. Look into the rules for conduct for police officers in that city. Why was this case labeled as a case of misconduct? What did the officers do that was a violation of police codes? Pay close attention to the difference between the penal codes that citizens have to follow and the rules/codes that police officers have to follow. What codes were violated?

3. Then explain how this particular case could have been handled better. What could have been done to prevent said misconduct?
