Chunking or decomposing is the process of breaking down outcomes into action steps. Why is it important? Can the process be taken too far? Why or why not?
Response: Breaking down a project into smaller steps can be very helpful when completing a project. Chunking or decomposing a project allows manager to break the project into more manageable portions that can be assigned to different workers or teams, (Indeed Editorial Team, 2022). By making a problem seem smaller it is easier for people to understand and tackle. It also creates more immediate a achievable goals, that can help motivate or encourage a project team. As these goals are meant the project come closer to completion. Why this is beneficial this process can be taken too far. If the project is broken down into too small of chunks then those chunks will muddy the waters and can prevent the project from being completed. The chucks could also be broken down into small enough chunks that the completion of them would not make a meaningful impact on the project.
When I am teaching new leaders at work how to handle a fluid and dynamic situation I always tell them to make short passes. If you try and take the entire problem on at once it is easy to become overwhelmed and to get lost in the problem. If you can chunk the problem, or identify what needs to be fixed right now, address it and move on to the next problem, it allows your brain time to think and focus on one thing at a time. This allows you to make better decisions, not become overwhelmed, and to work through a problem step by step.

how can it be made better.
