Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used for the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTI). It is estimated that 10% of the patients treated with ciprofloxacin will have a recurrent UTI within three weeks after treatment. A new drug has been developed for the treatment of UTI. In a group of 347 patients who were treated with this drug, only 29 had a recurrent UTI within three weeks after treatment. Can we conclude that the new drug is efficient in reducing the proportion of patients with recurrent UTI below 10%? Use a test of hypotheses of level = 0.05.
