To demonstrate their understanding of the categories of law, student will create a scrapbook of newspaper articles from the local, national and international level. Their scrapbook entries will include an analysis of each newspaper article and an overview of the categories of law that specifically relate to the newspaper entry. TASK AND DUE DATE REQUIREMENTS ASSESSED (date and comments) 1. Analysis of Newspaper Article - complete "Newspaper Article Report" (Thinking) - see rubric for details Due Date: 2. Facts & Terms - must include 5 or more articles that are relevant to the different (Knowledge/Understanding) categories of law -must highlight legal terms found within the articles and present a Due Date: definition of the terms - must present a clear outline of the article and identify how it relates to the specific category of law - see rubric for details 3. Structure of Scrapbook & -must include a bibliography with at least 3 different newspaper sources Bibliography (Application) -must ensure appropriate bibliography format -must site appropriate events, issues, or cases as examples of the Due Date: categories of law -must include captions describing the event, issue, or case sited in the article -see rubric for details 4.
