Combating Idea Killers. Creativity needs a great deal of freedom to develop, and this is one of the advantages of brainstorming. Think about how you can be on guard against negative criticism and how you can respond to idea killers or killer messages. Some expressions aim to stop an idea from being developedto stop it in its tracks before it can even get going. As you read down the list of these commonly heard killer messages, formulate at least one response you might give if someone used one of these on you or if you yourself used it to censor your own creative thinking.
