Come up with some ideas for dealing with existing groupthink. How do you get a group out of a situation where groupthink is going on? What communication strategies might this involve?

Structuration Theory: 1) What kinds of resources are most effective in helping a group achieve its goals? Which are least effective? Why? 2)Apply one aspect of structuration theory to a group to which you belong.

Organizational culture theory: How might you use this theory to effect organizational change? See if you can provide an example of how this might occur.

Rhetoric: Locate an example of one of the types of rhetoric discussed in the second last lecture slide. See if you can avoid conventional example (eg the courtroom for forensic or the eulogy for epideictic). How are the arguments being made and what kinds of evidence are used to support these arguments? Do you think those who heard these arguments were persuaded or almost persuade? Why or why not?
