Comel-Lote Boutique Sdn. Bhd. received an order to make five (5) special dress fashion every week. Each fashion has to go through a two-step operation, i.e. cutting and followed by stitching. Table 3.2 illustrates the time required under each operation.

1. Boutique workers plan to process the dress fashion according to following order: A>B>C>D>E. Determine the total time required to complete all the dress using this sequence. Show the sequence and time for each process using Gantt chart.

2. The Boutique owner requests your opinion, what is the best sequence to minimize completion time for the above jobs. Show all the steps involved.

3. Assume that the boutique receives the above order for 10 weeks consecutively and will pay staff salary at RM 8.00/hour. Only one staff involves in this task. Determine, how much the cost saving can be made using your sequence as compared to the initial sequence?
