There are many advantages to using project management software such as MS Project for project organization. One advantage of project management software is that it can track how much time an employee spends on a task, as it registers the sign on time and exactly what is done while online. Coworkers can also communicate with each other where ever they may be in the world, and remote capabilities add to efficiency. Resources and ideas are easily shared and these programs save money and time. A company's operations budget is reduced significantly as the programs allow individuals to work remotely. Another advantage is the flexibility of being able to sign on at any hour. This allows for varied schedules. Reports are able to be completed and shared quickly and problems are able to be fixed. As far as disadvantages go, for small businesses the cost of project management software may be costly and unnecessary and add complexity to tasks for some employees. Some programs may also be hard to adapt to and may also open the business up to attacks as a lot of data is exchanged. Some employees may become dependent on software and lose their natural creativity.
