Hello all,

A few terms back, I enrolled in a course on project management, which illuminated my previous involvement in a project management endeavor. My experience stems from my role as a Maintenance Supervisor at a significant semiconductor manufacturing plant. I spearheaded the project with my team, who incorporated their insights to ensure the new setup would meet the training needs of the new hires. My contribution entailed developing a new comprehensive training aid across the department as new hires arrived. This task demanded a thorough understanding of the system's functionality, including troubleshooting and maintenance procedures. Additionally, I was part of the installation crew, which allowed me to enhance my knowledge of the system and incorporate practical installation tips in the training.

This project significantly influenced my management style, highlighting my inclination toward hands$-$on leadership. I am keen to assist my team directly, particularly when tasks become challenging or overwhelming. This approach facilitates task completion and demonstrates my willingness to support my team's needs. However, I recognize the potential drawback of this method, as it might inadvertently decrease the team's productivity if they become reliant on my intervention. Balancing between being supportive and preventing dependency is a delicate act I aim to master.

Establishing a clear project scope and metrics from the onset is crucial to crafting an effective project management plan. This foundational step is instrumental in setting the project up for success, ensuring continuous monitoring of critical performance indicators, defining the project's boundaries, and enabling the team to allocate resources and schedule tasks efficiently.
