They are many ethical issues that managers face in the workplace. I have to say the ones that stands out to me are:

Discrimination based on age, race, gender, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity by employers. This continues to happen daily in the workplace. Qualified employees will not get hired, get that promotion, or raise solely based on one of these factors.

Conflict of Interest is when an employee take part in activities that benefits them and not that of the company which could compromise the integrity of the process. This happens very often. Some managers may accept a bid from a friend although the price and quality of the products in not as good as another bid received.

Nepotism and Favoritism is when employers with power and influence hire their family members and friends. Most time they don't even have the experience required for the job. This happens more often that we realize. It is extremely unfair especially to those employees who have the experience and have been putting in the work, to be overlooked.

Safety Standards are rules that are in place to protect employees from hazards. Many times, this is often ignored. Managers would cut back on safety standards in favor of cost cutting measures often finding the consequences of not enforcing safety standards can be much more costly. In the long run they can avoid taking on cost from correcting these mistakes or causing further harm or even death to their employees and others.

In the article I referenced below, it spoke about the ethical dilemma Volkswagen found themselves in. Volkswagen was accused of Emission cheating in 2017. Volkswagen admitted to rigging about 11 million of its diesel vehicles worldwide with software to dodge government emission test. They installed software to make cars appear to run cleaner. Because of this they had to pay billions of dollars in penalties. The company was under a three - year monitorship program which helped improve their workplace culture, improve the whistleblower program, and set up a network of compliance officers with the organization.
