Explain why the emission spectrum for hydrogen contains far fewer emission lines compared to the other two. Hint: Remember that each emission line observed corresponds to a change in energy of an electron between allowed energy levels in the atom. Also, refer to energy level diagrams in the textbook and think about what the energy levels (1s, 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p 3d, etc...) for hydrogen depend upon compared to those of atoms with more than one electron.
