Compute the summary statistics for both variables at the same time. Choose Stat/Summary Stats/Columns. Select both variable names, clicking the top variable first and then the bottom variable, while holding Shift, Control, or Command, (depending on your computer) and then select the following statistics: n, Mean, Std dev, Median, Range, Min, Max, Q1, Q3, IQR Again, you can select statistics you want and deactivate those you don't want, by using the Ctrl key on a PC or the Command key on a Mac. Make sure to write down your minimum and range values for both variables on a piece of paper. You will need them in the next step. Click the "Compute!" button at the bottom of the screen. In the Summary statistics window, select Options, then Save. Change the title to Summary Statistics, and leave Share with everyone set to "No." Click Save!, then close the window that states that the results were successfully saved to your MyResults folder by clicking the x in the top right corner of the window. Close the Summary statistics window as well.
