Concise = AP PSYCH FRQ FORMAT C.H.U.G. S.O.D.A.S. You must follow this writing plan for AP Psych FRQ's. This is science writing. Be as to the point as you possibly can be! Don't be overthink it. Just answer what the prompt is asking you to do! 2-4 Sentences MAXIMUM! Handwriting = Your handwriting must be in pen and neat and must be in full and complete sentences. No bullets or lists. If I can't read it I can't grade it. Underline = The prompt will ask you to use key psychological vocabulary. Underline the psych terms when you write. It will help the reader give you as many points as possible! Gone one = Do not write introductions, transitions, or concluding paragraphs. They score you no points and are a waste of your time. You are writing mini paragraphs for each term, not an essay! Space It Out = The worst thing for a reader is one big blob of writing. Every bullet in the prompt should get its own paragraph. Skip a line between paragraphs. Order = Write the question in order. Do the first bullet first, the second bullet second, do not skip around...it makes it very hard to grade FRQ's that do that! Define = You must demonstrate a clear understanding of psychological vocabulary and the best way to do that is to briefly explain (define) every term before you apply to the scenario (even if the prompt does not require a definition). Apply = Apply (give examples/make connections) the psychological vocabulary to the prompt/scenario provided. Don't stray from the prompt or come up with your own examples. This is not a creative writing exercise. Work off the prompt and BE SPECIFIC- use names and clear connections to the example. Synonyms = The students should not use the term to explain the definition/application. Use a synonym!
