CONDENSER DESIGN QUESTION

O-dichlorobenzene is vaporized in the tubes of a forced convection reboiler. Estimate the local heat transfer coefficient at a point where 5% of the liquid has been vaporized. The liquid velocity at the tube inlet is 2 m/s and the operating pressure is 0.3 bar. The tube inside diameter is 16 mm, and the local wall temperature is estimated to be 120C. The physical properties of the O-dichlorobenzene are given below:

Boiling point = 136C

_L = 1170 kg/m^3

_L = 0.45 mNs/ m^2

_v = 0.01 mNs/m^2

_v = 1.31 kg/m^3

k_L = 0.11 W/(m*C)

Cp_L = 1.25 kJ/(kg*C)

P_c = 41 bar
