Conflicting Responsibilities:

Kevin Watkins is a manager at a CPA firm. At the recommendation of a partner in charge he applied a was accepted, for the membership on the Accounting Standard Committee of the government finance officer association. Committee members are selected on their individual qualifications, member do not represent their employers. The committee have in consideration a resolution urging municipalities to develop a measure. The committee is divided on the resolution but Watkins CPA partner in charge is opposed strongly to the resolution, knowing that it will cost a lot of money to get the information to stop it the partner in charge wants the new member to support his employer.
