Consider a 1120F, 2000-psia, 10-psia steam cycle with reheat at 200 psia to 1000F and a closed feedwater heater taking extraction from a line between two turbines at 100psia. The FWH condensate is throttled to the condenser, and the feedwater in the FWH is raised to the condensing temperature of the extraction steam. (a) Draw labeled T-s and flow diagrams for this plant. (b) Tabulate the enthalpies for each significant state point. (c) What is the extraction fraction to the FWH? (d) What are the net work and work ratio? (e) What are the thermal efficiency and the heat rate?

With the following changes. The turbines and pump are not isentropic, but have efficiencies of 0.92. For the closed feedwater heater, assume that the feedwater leaves at 5F below steam condensation (saturation) temperature, while the condensate leaves 10F above the temperature of the incoming feedwater. For the turbines, do the analysis the same as the text and use the inlet entropy as the ideal entropy throughout the remainder of the turbine. That is, for example the entropy at 4s is the same as 3 and the entropy at 5s is the same as 3. Do a complete cycle analysis, using the diagram and state numbers provided.
