What is the steady state substrate concentration for each of the entering substrate concentrations? 3. Determine the cell concentration and substrate concentration if the dilution rate was changed to 0.8 hr-1, for the above entering substrate concentrations. 4. What is the critical dilution rate above which washout of cells would occur for each entering substrate concentration? 5. On one graph, plot the change in cell concentrations and the change in substrate concentrations vs. dilution rate for each of the above mentioned entering substrate concentrations. Note: the graph should (generally) resemble the ones we discussed in class. 6. For a given dilution rate, what controls cell concentration? 7. What controls substrate concentration?
