Step 1: Research and Plan

Ultimately, you will be creating a video that includes both actual footage of you demonstrating several items as well as text-based slides with relevant information to a well-rounded presentation on technology in the hospitality and tourism workplace.

The easiest way will be to take video and insert it into a slideshow presentation. But that will not come until the very end. First, you want to look through the requirements below and do some research to gather information and plan out what you want to say and do in your video.

Your video must include:

• Explanation of why there is a need for computer applications to perform workplace tasks in a hospitality and tourism establishment (this will lead into the next bullet point, demonstration)
• Brief demonstrations of the use of software products that are relevant to the hospitality and tourism industry (e.g., templates, spreadsheets, customer and vendor databases, and industry-related products). Assuming that you do not have actual customer or vendor databases, you will need to simulate some of this demonstration

Your text-based slides must include:

• Explanation of universal terminology used in hospitality and tourism sales-related transactions (specifically: cash, emerging technology, digital payment alternatives, checks, debit cards, credit cards, incentive program points, discounts).

You should absolutely utilize some or all of the terminology listed above while demonstrating the video requirements, and if you want to, you may offer brief explanations of these terms here, but you must also include a slide that clearly spells out and explains what each term means and is used for.
