Consider the practice of stripping rights away from felons and, specifically, sex offenders beyond their time incarcerated for the offenses. Sex offenders must register with their local police departments and notify neighbors of their past offenses. They are also subject to limited civil rights (voting, possessing a firearm, being around children, etc...). If the issued prison sentence has been served, are these conditions violations of the convicted felons' 14th amendment rights (Equal Protection Clause)?

What of those convicted of non-sex offense felony crimes?
