Consotega College would like to keep track of the usage of their computer labs. The main metric that is of interest to them is the volume of students using the lab. This, in particular, is helpful for budgeting. The lab director assigns you the task of developing a data warehouse that would keep track of the usage statistics. The following are the main requirements: • Show the total number of users by different time periods • Compare usage for different majors and different semesters • Compare usage for different classes within the majors and semesters • Compare usage for different demographic measures (M/F, Age, etc) • Show a breakdown of computer applications utilized across the various measures o Application Name and Operating System Prepare the following for this project: • Provide a high-level description (without modeling) of the fact and dimension tables required • Describe the granularity of each of the fact tables • Present the full table attributes of both the fact and dimension tables • Provide a diagram representing the data warehouse design • Using sample data (which you will create), provide a sample of three reports that may be generated from this warehouse data. Follow-up questions: • Provide a solution handling the following cases and explain why your solution works: o When a student changes majors o When a lab moves locations o When new version of a software package are installed in the lab • Does your solution include any snow flaking?
