Content of the Report Write up a summary of the chosen article. An article summary is short and precise writing that is informed by a critical reading of the selected articles. Article summary does not make use of direct quotes taken in the selected article. The focus of the article summary is to help the students to be able to make critical reading, summarise it and report it in a clear and organised manner. The summary should include each of the following elements: i.Title page ii.Introduction and Background sectionWhy was the research conducted? What were the researchers trying to discover? Why the topic was worth investigating? What was the underpinning theory or framework used by the researchers? Why the research was important? How the research could contribute to both theory and practice. iii. Methodology section What did the researchers do to seek the answer to their research questions? What were the details of the participants/observations of the study? What was the procedure that the researcher conducted? Why? How were the data analysed? Findings/Result section What were the major discoveries? Did the result support the hypotheses/propositions? Discussion section Are results consistent with previous studies or do they suggest something different? What does the researcher have learned from the study? Should more research on similar issues to be conducted in future, what aspects need to focus on? vi. Conclusion What is the strength, weakness, and implications of the research?
