The purpose of copyright protection is to encourage creative work by giving the creator the ability to make money off the creation. The purpose of the "limited time" is to encourage creative work based on copyrighted material - the public use of the material. Given these somewhat conflicting purposes, state whether you think "life of author plus 70 years" is a fair length, too long, or too short.
