could you solve a, b, and c step by step clearly?
Question 3 (20 pts). Acetic acid (CH3COOH) in an acetic acid-water mixture is separated from the mixture by using 1-hexanol (C6H13OH) in a liquid extraction process unit at steady state. Acetic acid-water mixture which contains 11.5%CH3COOH by mass and balance H2O is fed at 600g/min flow rate to the process unit in which it is contacted with C6H13OH, which is fed to the unit in a pure form. Two product streams are withdrawn continuously from the extraction unit, one of which contains 9.6%CH3COOH and balance C6H13OH and other product stream which consists of acetic acid and water has a flow rate of 534g/min. Note: 1 -hexanol is completely immiscible in water. a) Draw the flowchart of the process and perform degrees of freedom analyses. b) Calculate all the unknown variables for the process. c) Scale up the process to an acetic acid-water mixture feed of 1800g/min and draw the flow chartStep by Step Solution
