Counseling can benefit the company by having potential problems addressed and keeping themfrom becoming overwhelming while also strengthening an employee's weakness. Problems canbe addressed performance through counseling because it can allow a manager to recommenddevelopmental activities. Counseling from supervisors can be needed when a decline inperformance or job standards is unmet because sometimes these changes can be personalproblems. Though counseling should not be personal, supervisors must know that they arecoaching on job-related topics or behavior policies that can help an employee improve. Delayingcounseling can confuse the message and limit its impact which can create more overwhelmingproblems
