In Step 3, you will use the information in the Country Data File to examine the relationship between GDP per capita and the standard of living in your country (and in general). This is a summative assessment. Your work should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the content from the Real GDP per Capita & the Standard of Living module in Canvas. In particular, pay attention to the PPT GDP and Wellbeing. The assignment consists of four short "essays". Using the word "essay" is intentional to frame the way you present your answers. o First, read the guiding questions provided below. o Second, examine the appropriate data in your Country Data File from Step 2, make observations, and take notes. o Third, prepare a short "essay" that addresses the guiding questions. Tell a story about your country supported by data from the Country Data File. Criteria for excellent "essays": Each "essay" is a substantial paragraph (150-200 well-chosen words). The author demonstrates a thorough understanding of the content covered in this module. Demonstrates analysis and reflection. Well-organized, well-edited, and easy to read. Tells a coherent story about the country of interest. Well supported with data from (and only from) the Country Data File (Step 2). Demonstrate that you understand the concept of real GDP per capita, both in levels and growth rates, and the relationship between real GDP, population, and real GDP per capita. o Explore the relationship between the levels of real GDP, population, and real GDP per capita for your country and the other countries you selected with similar GDP, similar population, and similar GDP per capita. Does a country with a relatively high/low real GDP have a relatively high/low real GDP per capita? Does a country with a large/small population have a high/low real GDP per capita?
