COVID 19 Co has an activity-based costing system with three activity cost pools-Machining, Assembly, and Other. In the first stage allocations, costs in the two overhead accounts, equipment depreciation and facotry expense, are allocated to three activity cost pools based on resource consumption. Data used in the first stage allocations follow: Cheetos & Cheeeters produces Deluxe Leather Cheeters. The production budget for the next four months is: July 5,200 units, August 7,800 units, September 7,600 units, October 8,000 units. Each Cheeter requires 0.5 square meters of leather. Cheetos & Cheeeters's leather inventory policy is 30% of next month's production needs. On July 1 leather inventory was expected to be 780 square meters.
