Create a design a better wallet
- I PHASE, the first process - You have to DESIGN A BETTER WALLET. SKETCH your own version of a better wallet.
- IT IS A PROBLEM, BUT WE DIDN'T DIVE INTO THE FALSE START. (I gave you the problem, and you provided me a sketch - but, actually... you need to ask people/ let them speak and create the solution afterward).
- NOW: You have to choose one person (family, relatives, friends online). Talk with him/ her (online) and answer the following:
- II PHASE, the second process - 4/5 minutes: What is the perfect wallet for your chosen person? FOCUS ON EMPATHY (listen; you are curious about this person's needs). You can ask this person to bring/ take his/her wallet and discuss it.
- (You can ask more questions related to this part (for ex., what functions do you need to have in a wallet product? How do you choose a wallet (what criteria), what do you carry in a wallet? Why do you carry this in a wallet? + take notes. Try to listen to as many stories as you can (how this person is using the wallet). DRAW a SKETCH of a wallet as a result.
- III PHASE, the third process - 4/5 minutes - FOCUS ON EMOTIONS. Repeat the same question - What is the perfect wallet for you? - (but this time, IMAGINE THAT you are A CHILD). YOU ASK A LOT OF "WHY" questions. (if you ask WHY for at least 3 times to the same question (for ex. 1. Why do you carry cash in your wallet? - Because I don't trust credit cards. 2. Why don't you trust credit cards? 1. Because when I was a child my parents said that it is evil.... 3. Why did your parents say this?.... (AS A RESULT you can get the core reasons/ main answers/ customer preferences).
- UPDATE THE SKETCH. DOES IT CHANGE AT ALL (FROM THE PREVIOUS)?
- IV PHASE - DEFINE and summarize insights (your results from the conversations) -
- What are this person's needs? (try to use as many vers as possible)
- Ways his/her want to feel?
- V PHASE - POINT OF VIEW STATEMENT/ PROBLEM STATEMENT (what problem you are going to solve for this person). ANSWER each part (describe your user and write down a need and actual one insight):
- THREE PARTS:
-
- USER (for ex. 9th-year grade girl at the new school)
- NEED (deep need; her need - not a projected need) (for ex. she needs to feel socially accepted while eating healthy food)
- INSIGHT (for ex. because in her crew the social risk is more dangerous than a health risk)
- VI PHASE - IDEATE (Brainstorm) individually (RULES: 1. Don't judge your ideas; 2. Go for volume; 3. BE VISUAL; 4. WILD IDEAS ARE WELCOME)
- VII PHASE - choose one idea and think about it as a product. What this product would look like? (if you want: you can try to create a prototype - use everything that you find at your place). You can also draw/ sketch it.
