Create a new multitrack session. Name it firstlast1. Save it to your external hard drive. Make sure that the sample rate is 48,000hz, the bit depth is 32 bits, and the master is in stereo. It is important that you do this first. If you don't your media folders for this assignment will be spread all over your computer instead of in your folder. You could lose points if this happens. See above for more information on this,
Using the 30 second Heart of Missouri United Way radio spot script, record your voice-over. Make sure your mic is loud enough through the OS mic adjustments,
Add ambient sounds that go with the tone of the voice over,
Create your own music by using the provided loops. You must use at least 3 different loops that play at the same time. You do not need music over the whole project,
The loops must all be on the same beat. I will go over this in class. There is a tutorial on the server that covers this,
Do not use any outside of class media,
Mix your music in stereo. This means that you have each instrument, minus a main percussion track, mixed somewhat to the left or right side as covered in class,
Make sure that your project is arranged to have your voice over on the top tracks, your ambient sound effects in the middle tracks and your music on the bottom tracks,
Experiment with audio f/x to mix your project from the essential sounds panel,
Use fade ins and outs with every piece of audio.
All mixing and f/x elements must add to the quality of your project. You will lose points if you do something that loses quality,
The project must be exactly 30 seconds long,
Mix all audio to be close to 0.0 dB. The overall project audio levels must not peak or red line over 0.0 dB on the master audio UV meter,
The project must sound like a professional radio spot,
Render out to a .wav file at 48,000Hz and 32 bit titled FirstLast1. Save the .wav file to your hard drive. Listen to the .wav to make sure it is correct,
On OneDrive turn in folder your folder called FirstLast1. The folder could include backup, recorded, imported files, and conformed files folders and the .sesx project file and the .wav file. If you do not have any folders, you did not set up your project correctly. Ask for help. DO NOT turn in the Audition Media folder that is on OneDrive,
Make sure you save your work on your hard drive.
