The survey of 50 random School students was conducted in person on Decemberl 2022 by Prof Pedro. Participation by Age According to Professor Pedro survey results, the average respondent was 27.6 years old, although the largest proportion of respondents (50%) were under 20 years old. Students who reported low participation were statistically evenly distributed across the three age groups (under 20 =6; 21-30 = 6, and 31+ = 7). Interestingly, no one reported "very low" participation in any age group. Overall, a majority (60%) of students indicated a high or very high level of participation across age groups (N=30), and of those, students under 20 (H = 20, VH = 3) were 2.67 times more likely to report "high" or "very high" participation than students 31+ (H: 5, VH = 0). Participation by Gender Pedro surveyed an equal number of men and women (25 each). An equal number of women, 48%, reported their classroom participation as both "low" (N=12), but also as "high" (N=11) or "very high (N=1). By contrast, the majority of men (72%) reported their participation as high (N=15) or very high (N=3), suggesting they participate more in the classroom than women, as a group. Participation by Gender and Age Professor Pedro results suggest that as women age, they participate in the classroom more: although 67% of women under 20 (N= 6 of 9) reported low participation, zero women in the 31+ age category reported low participation (no respondents reported very low participation, see Table 1). However, men appear to experience a 100% decrease in participation as they age; 100% of men under 20 reported high (N=14) or very high (N=2) participation, but only one man in the 31+ age category reported high participation (none reported very high participation) Conclusion Survey results indicate that the groups most likely to participate in the classroom are students under 20 and men.
