What would you do in this situation? A GlobalCare is a multinational pharmaceutical company, with headquarters in London and operations on all continents. Two days ago, GlobalCare began its annual review and strategic planning meeting. These meetings bring together top officers from all regional offices to review sales data, learn about new product development, discuss marketing strategies, set sales goals, review company policies and become acquainted with each other. Late yesterday word came from regional offices in New York and Tokyo that Global Care product introduced to the market only three weeks ago had been implicated in the deaths or illnesses of five people. Information was incomplete and unclear but it appears that the product, an anti-depressant might be tainted or have unanticipated side effects in people with certain health problems. The President of GlobalCare called a meeting for first thing in the morning. You are in the room where the meeting is to be held, finishing your tea. Everyone but the president has arrived. The president's assistant comes into the room and tells you that the president just called and his mother has had a stroke. He says he will join you later but in the meantime he wants you to proceed with the meeting. He wants your recommendation as to how GlobalCare should respond to the reports. How do you proceed
