Presentation Guidelines

You must use/cite at least three different resources for gathering the information. You should include the citations on a slide at the end of the presentation.

Your presentation should be no more than 12 slides in length (including the title slide and references slide).

You should use a presentation design theme/template other than the Office theme and since there are over 35 themes available in the Office suite, no two students should use the same theme. You can also search for/use a PowerPoint design themes/templates found online.

You should include your name and the slide number as a footer on each slide (excluding the title slide).

You should include at least two images/pictures that are appropriate for the topic of your slide. You can use pictures included in the Office suite or those found online (include reference citation if online images are used).

Apply the same transition to all slides in the presentation.

Apply the same animation to all bulleted items on each slide. Set each bulleted item to Start: On Click so each bullet enters individually.

Tips for creating an effective presentation:

o Use the 7-7 Rule, which suggests using no more than seven bullet points per slide, with no more than seven words per bullet.

> Keep phrases parallel, i.e. if one bulleted item starts with a verb (such as Summarize), all other bulleted items should start with a verb (such as Include, List, or Review).

o Use dark-colored text on light/white background for ease of reading.

o Use simple fonts in size large enough to be read from back of room.
