Daenerys Targaryen lost her job selling watches during the past week. It turns out that her employer, Night Watches, learned that she was volunteering her time at the greyscale clinic on weekends. Greyscale is a skin disease that is horribly disfiguring and is only transmissible by rats. It cannot be transmitted by touching, kissing, sneezing or any type of human exposure. Daenerys does not have greyscale and she assures Night Watches of that fact. The Night Watches manager, Cersei Lannister, fires Daenerys due to corporate concerns that because the selling of watches involves considerable handling of the watches, and helping customers to try on watches, the public will quit buying Night Watches from the store where Daenerys is employed if anyone sees her associating with patients at the greyscale clinic, or even if anyone hears that she volunteers there. Daenerys provides Cersei with information as to the virtual impossibility of transmitting greyscale to a clinic volunteer, but Cersei refuses to reconsider its decision to terminate her
