The process includes using technologies, systems, practices, methodologies, statistics, and implementation to find trends and patterns or relationships to solve problems using data. Universities might use data analytics to recruit and attract potential students by assessing the target demographics, which includes age, group, gender, interest, location, and pain point. For example, the marketing team can use age demographic data to choose where to put an ad. According to LinkedIn (2023), social media platforms by the largest age group are Facebook: 25-34, Instagram: 18-24, Twitter: 18-29, TikTok: 10-19, and LinkedIn: 25-54. To promote post-secondary education, based on the results, a university like GCU might put ads on LinkedIn as this social media covers the age of the target audience for graduate students. LinkedIn users are primarily professionals at the beginning of their careers or lifetime learners looking for ongoing certification or upskilling programs. The ad had an impact on my choice to attend GCU. However, it was when I was searching for a job perspective through LinkedIn and browsing to analyze the requirement for the job that I intended to apply. I clicked on one of the universities' ads to further my career, and GCU appeared in my search. The most appealing was GCU's advertised as the best option for someone like me with a full-time job offering an online class where it is convenient with my busy schedule.
