Data: As of Feb. 7, 2017: In the past 87 Overtime games for the NFL, 45 of the teams that had the ball first did indeed end up winning the game. Thinking questions: So is it really an advantage to get the ball first in OT during an Overtime NFL game? Q: Does the data above provide sufficient evidence to conclude that the team receiving the ball first has an advantage in winning the overtime NFL game? (Think about what the proportion and chance of getting the coin flip result and having an advantage would be higher than that proportion).and the solution should be as shown in the class lecture example: Step 0: include and indeed validate any assumptions you should for the appropriate test Step 1: Setup the pair of hypothesis (mathematical symbolic Ho and Ha) and include a statement of what tailed test is appropriate Step 2: state alpha level (if not given use alpha=0.05) Step 3: Calculate the test statistic by formula process (yes, showing the math work and result, with proper label on that test statistic and also give corresponding p-value with proper label on it Also in step 3: Give the name of the calculator function, the exact inputs used and the test statistics output and p-value output. (present in a format that is easily followed TYPED OUT as shown in the class course lecture material on this concept). Be sure to only include / type out the two outputs/results for step 3 needed from that calculator function: 1) test statistic and 2) p-value (screenshots are not allowed). Remember to label each of those two outputs correctly and accurately. Step 4: Give the decision of whether to Reject Ho or Not Reject Ho (with support which is easily done by comparing your p-value (actual value) to your alpha level, actual value), must have both support and the Decision. Step 5: Give the final conclusion (in context of the problem in sentence form), avoid using mathematical symbols in your sentence conclusion and don't forget to include the alpha level (must be in the same format as shown in class examples in the applicable class video lecture)
