To best advise students, we are now seeking to provide potential Associate of General Studies students a summary and explanation of recent graduate earnings. We surveyed recent 2014 Associate of General Studies graduates through postal mail, e-mail, and telephone calls with approximately a 25% response rate. We are very pleased with the high response rate. To begin the data analysis, we used Microsoft Excel's Histogram feature in the Data Analysis add-in, but we are unsure of how to interpret the data effectively. Please reference the Week 1 Student Data File and the Response Template. We need your assistance in both creating a visualization and in interpreting it. 1) First, we request some form of visualization (bar chart, pie chart, scatter plot, or other) based on either the histogram data or the raw data. Please justify the strengths and weaknesses of your selection as we expect to face a nontechnical but highly critical audience. 2) Second, we request your interpretation of the chart. What does the chart mean? We appreciate your prompt and professional attention to this matter and look forward to receiving both your visualization and explanations in a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document, along with your visualization from Microsoft Excel. We have provided a Response Template for your convenience. Because of the short length and varied audience, we do not expect strict APA format. However, we do expect proper grammar and clear reasoning understandable to a nontechnical audience.
