Davenport Electronics (DE) supplies high quality commercial electrical products. Fang is a property investor and is building a high-quality office block for premium business tenants. He wants no expense spared in ensuring the office blocks are made to the highest standards. Fang has read stories published in the newspaper describing DE products as 'the best of the best' in electrical components and decides these would be ideal for his office block. He contacts DE and tells them he wants the best quality electrical fittings. DE's sales representative tells Fang the products sold by DE are 'the best money can buy.' Fang buys all the electrical fittings from DE.

However, before long, his tenants start complaining about problems with the electrical fittings in the office block. In particular, the light switches do not work, and all the security lights are faulty. Fang hires an electrical expert to investigate, and he informs Fang that it appears the goods supplied by DE are poorly manufactured imitations of top brand electrical components. They are dangerous and should be replaced.

Advise Fang:
