Defining & assessing a health problem that can, potentially, be resolved through government policymaking action. Identify 2 health problems (i.e. self-selected and of interest to you). for each of the topics answer the following questions:

1. What is the health problem? (Write one sentence identifying the health problem.)
2. What is the policy problem? State the policy problem in one sentence. Do not just re-state the health problem. (Remember health problems are not policy problems. A policy problem is a problem that the government can act upon, so if the government cannot perform one of the 8 actions under its jurisdiction to solve the problem, then the "problem" is not a policy problem.) Underline and bold your policy problem sentence.
3. What is the governmental jurisdiction that can act upon the policy problem? (Name the jurisdiction, Level and Branch, you are targeting.) Why do you think this is the appropriate jurisdiction? (Describe the policy window at that jurisdiction in terms of timing, context, politics, focusing event, election, etc.).
4. Who is the decision maker(s) you will be targeting to champion the policy problem and that your brief will be addressed to? (Name the decision maker(s) you are going to brief on the policy problem and your justification of the choice).
