DEFINITION AND ANALYSIS OF A DATABASE PROBLEM In this homework assignment, you are to identify a real life organizational situation for which a database solution can be developed. IF you do not have, or are unable to identify, a real-life organization for which you can develop a database solution, you are welcome to use the "FORONDO ARTIST MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE INC (hereafter referred to as FAME)" Case problem (pages 48-50 and 112-113 of course text for this homework- and at the end of each succeeding chapter for future homework assignments). Provides a brief description of the organization or organizational entity within which the database problem resides. This could be your present employer or company, a department within your company, or any other organization or organizational sub-unit, that has a genuine need for a database (25 points) 2. Provides a brief but concise description of your initial analysis of the situation at the organization that you have identified in question 1 above (or at FAME) as it relates to the design of the database application. This analysis should outline: a) The problems currently experienced by the organization (or business unit) you selected in 1. above (or FAME) arising from the absence of a database. List 5-10 problems (25 points). b) A comprehensive but concise list (5-10 items on the list) of requirements for the "new data warehouse (requirements are "What the database system will enable to organization to perform"). In other words, What the new database system will accomplish (25 points). c) A first-cut enterprise data model diagram of the database solution that you propose to develop for the organization (or business unit) identified in 1. above.
