Task Instructions
Fiction University has several parking spaces allocated to students for parking at the university. All vehicles parked in the university car parks between 8:00 am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday inclusive, are required to register the vehicle and have a valid parking permit/ticket. Parking penalties are applied according to the parking regulations governing Parking and Traffic management regulations of the university, and any unlawful parking or traffic rules violations will incur fines/penalties by issuing a ticket. The fines depend on the nature of the offence. For example, some of the car parks have time limits displayed on signages, and vehicles parked longer than the indicated time may incur a fine of $50 for the offence. Likewise, parking penalties may also be issued for violation of parking regulations such as obstructive and dangerous parking. If multiple offences arise from one incident, a parking ticket may comprise multiple fines, and each fine rate for each offence depends on the type of offence.
Examine the following PARKING FINE table used by the Fiction University to record parking violations committed. These fines are recorded typically as below:
\table[[StID,StudName,PhoneNo,Course,School,LicNo,LicCat,LicDesc,TicketNo,TicketDate,OffenceCode,OffenceDesc,Fine],[A00020,\table[[Thomas],[Brown]],040124886,BBIS,BUS,BRY123,P,Prov,15634,1010?2019,4,\table[[No Valid Parking],[permit]],40],[,,,,,,,,,2,\table[[Overstaying],[allotted time]],50],[A00049,\table[[Gurdeep],[Singh]],040124234,MBIS,BUS,TRE142,F,Full,14984,2310?2021,3,\table[[Parking on],[disability parking],[space]],100],[,,,,,,,,,1,\table[[Parking on parking],[restricted area]],150],[A00040,\table[[Fiona],[James]],040456234,MIT,\table[[Science],[& Eng]],TRE176,F,Full,14997,2203?2020,4,\table[[No Valid Parking],[permit]],40],[A00044,Rudy Deco,040896245,MIT,\table[[Science],[& Eng]],TRE179,P,Prov,14999,2203?2021,2,\table[[Overstaying],[allotted time]],50],[A00020,\table[[Thomas],[Brown]],040124886,BBIS,BUS,BRY123,P,Prov,15639,1010?2020,3,\table[[Parking on],[disability parking],[space]],100]]
