Deprivation Details

The deprivation may involve a product or service:

Chosen topic: I deprive myself of listening to music for 7 days.

Substitute: Listening to sport podcast and watching sport shows.

I listen to music and average of 3 hours daily.

Step 1:Create Journal and Outline Goals

The journal needs to be designed so you can keep it with you for the majority of every day. Also, develop a deprivation guideline contract for yourself and sign the contract. It should include the details of what is being deprived and what constitutes cheating. It should also include a plan of action should you fail to complete the deprivation.

Step 2:Be Deprived

For 7 days, you will be deprived. Every time you think about wanting to use the object, make a recording in your journal. Include the following:

• The date and time
• Environment description (where you are, who you are with, etc.)
• What you are doing
• What made you think about the deprived item
• What, if any, substitute you have found at that moment

Step 3:Conduct a thorough research of secondary data. Gather information about the history of the product, competitors, and any information available about possible substitutes or uses for the product and/or expert opinions and research conducted that will help complete the selected objective.

  • Make sure to reference concepts from your book as you complete paper(cite your source). They can be in this final section or included in the Primary Research section or Results and Implications section. I need to see that you can tie concepts from the book to your findings in this project.
