Henry is a single 30-year-old heterosexual Caucasian male. Dereck expressed concerns in adjusting to probation after completing 8.5 years of incarceration for soliciting photos and sending photos of male client, as well as threatening a juvenile female with video of explicit material. He describes strained relationships with his parents and two younger sisters. Dereck acknowledges he depends upon his parents financially with support while he is seeking employment. Dereck has been unemployed for one and a half months and unable to maintain stable employment.

He expressed concerns in experiencing stress from incarceration and low self-esteem since his release. He describes wanting assistance with learning how to problem solve during participation of sex offender treatment program and fighting sexual urges. Dereck reports having obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and depression, he also suspects bipolar I disorder following manic episodes from previous counseling in which he was placed on SSRI's; however, no additional details were given. He reports hoping counseling will decrease his anxiety and manic episode symptoms. Dereck discussed overwhelmed by the following stressors: strained relationships, employment, financial difficulties, recurrent worries, and compulsive behaviors. Dereck acknowledges being unclear of how to regain stability and using marijuana to self-medicate.

Henry was raised in Newark, DE in a household with both parents and two sisters. He is a 30-year-old Caucasian Male reporting he had a "good" childhood and was "spoiled" with his travels his family had taken to various places. Henry describes both his parents divorcing by the time he was 19 years old. He describes being close to his mother and did not endure neglect or physical and sexual abuse. Henry's parents are educated, while his mother he suspects may have bipolar disorder, although there is little information and no diagnosis.

The client's siblings, both sisters, he describes as co-dependent and struggle with prioritizing their own needs from the perceptional needs of family approval and identity. Henry stated being well liked by his peers and a good student, upon completion of High School, he attended higher education within Florida State University. Upon his two years of attending college, Henry was arrested for his sexual crime after his completion of his educational program. He describes obtaining two master's while incarcerated, and currently resides in a sex offender community while seeking employment. He believes he is a disappointment to his parents and sisters and cannot live up to their expectations.
