  • Describe specific examples of risks on a project that are within the team's control, partially within the team's control, and outside the team's control. Explain the strategies you would use to address each of these risks.

Answer:

One thing that I think is within the control of the team is communication risk. There can be risks with communication especially when there can be so many things to discuss throughout a project. However, I think with all the ways that there are to communicate during projects that communication can be something that is within the team's control.

Operational risk can partially be within the team's control especially when it comes to process problems. However, when it comes to procurement problems then I believe that it something that could be out of the project team's control. For example, if you were supposed to get materials from vendors by a certain time and your vendor ended up pushing out the timeline for the materials then that is out of the project team's control.

Something that is completely outside the team's control would be external hazard risks. Risks like these are completely unpredictable and come from external courses. Some examples of external hazards risks are storms, floods, and other natural disasters and labor strikes.
